Interesting read Mike. I'm curious, do you feel personal shame and guilt that your ancestors were slavers? Do you think that as a result you have an obligation to repay the descendants of the enslaved? (if so how?)

I did a quick check on the history of Portugal (not doing it justice at all, it's very rich) and learnt that in its early colonization by Homo Sapiens, it was largely invaded by Celtic and Roman forces, and would be curious if you bore those people any ill will and what your thoughts on that were?
